I want a garden. I always dreamed that my house would most likely be a small town home. One of the houses where you can get to know your neighbors and sit on your front step and drink a beer and talk while the sun sets on a warm summers evening. Whenever I picture this house in my mind I think about how the first thing I want to do is completely change the back yard. It doesn't have to be a huge yard, but there has to be some sort of deck. Off the deck there will be a small stone pathway that will lead to a grassy area surrounded by overwhelming shades of green and yellows, reds, purples, whites... (I wish you could see the picture in my head). At the edge of the grass, in the back of the garden, there is a tree. Not huge, but big enough to cast shade. There will be a park bench underneath, or maybe some sort of garden swing. You are surrounded by plants, trees, vines, flowers, all of which can take you away from the city. When you look up all you can see are the branches of the taller trees and blue skies. You really need to see the picture in my head :)

There is something so peaceful about gardens. You suffer long just to make them perfect, but at the end of the day when you sit on that bench and just relax, you know it's perfect. The bees will be busy and we will be swatting them away. Hummingbirds will rush to a rose and fly still before rushing off again. The stupid rabbit will be chewing on my flowers again, but that's okay. Right now we just relax. Any problems can be taken care of tomorrow.

We can sit there until day turns to night. And then we can spend the whole night watching stars stream across a dark black sky. The blanket will be pulled just a little bit tighter keeping us a little bit warmer from the nights chill. The branches will cast moon shadows as a gentle breeze runs through. Maybe the blanket should be just a little bit tighter. And we stay there until night turns to day.

I've always wanted a garden. A big garden. Something that will grow and blossom in the fury of Spring. There something so... spiritual about them. It's a little bit of heaven. Just a taste. When what is created can be seen and everything responds, "God is Good."
